9-Days Morocco Highlight Tour

Day 01

Arrival Casablanca 卡薩布蘭卡

Arrive at Casablanca Mohammed V Airport. You will be met by our local representative and transfer to your hotel stay.

Day 02

Casablanca ~ Rabat ~ Fes 卡薩布蘭卡-拉巴特 - 菲斯古城

Rabat visit:
The political capital of Morocco (in Arabic Ribat) was founded in the 10th century near the ruins of the Phoenician an later Roman port of Sala Colonia at the mount of Bou-Regreg River. It became the capital of the great 12th century Almohades conqueror Yacoub El Mansour, who ruled an area that extended from Tunisia to northern Spain. After the death of Yacoub el Mansour, Rabat lost much of its importance and was not to recover its status as capital until the French occupation in 1912.

Visit the Mechouar (Royal Palace precinct) of the Palais Royal, built in 1864 on the ruins of a late 18C property. The inside is not open for public; it contains the Royal Cabinet, Ministry of the Royal Household and the prime minister's offices.

Drive through the ramparts for a photo stop at Chellah Necropolis gateway (old sala colonia which was for 15th centuries the site of Phoenician, Roman, Berber and Arab of Sala).

Continue to the Hanssan tower which is unfinished minaret of Hassan Mosque, constructed by Yacoub el Mansour in the last five years of his reign after his victory over the king of Castle and Leon at Alacros. The mosque was destroyed at the same time as the city of Lisbon in the earthquake of 1755.

Visit the nearby white marbled Mausoleum of the King Mohammed V, where both kings are buried (Mohammed V, Hassan II and his brother Prince Mulay Abdellah).

Proceed to Oudaias Kasbah, built on the bluff overlooking the estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, dominate the surrounding area and can be seen from some distance. The main entry point is the Almohades gate of Bab Oudala built in 1195. Most of the houses were built by Moslem refugees from Spain.

After the visit, drive along the highway to Fes.

Day 03

Fes 菲斯古城

Breakfast at hotel.
Depart for a full day city tour of Fes which is the oldest of the four Imperial cities. It was founded approx. 809 A.D. spiritual and intellectual capital of Islam in the west.

Day 04

Fes ~Midelt ~ Erfound 菲斯古城 - 艾佛德

Enjoy breakfast at htoel.

Day 05

Erfound ~ Ouarzazate 艾佛德 - 歐薩薩

Enjoy breakfast at hotel.

Visit the Erfound and the nearby city Rissani where the old trading African/Berber market that people used to exchange Gold for salt and sugar. Caravans guided by Touareg (Bluemen) use to come and go to Timouktou in Mali and the Niger River. Photo stops at the tomb of the Saint Mulay Ali Charif (the grandfather of the Alaouite dynasty).

Depart Erfoud via Tinejdad, Tinerhir, with its huge Kasbah belonging to the ex-Glaoui, former Pash of Marrakech. Excursion to the imposing Todra Gorges, along the famous "Route of 1000 Kasbah" to Boumalne, the center of the scent industry at El Kelaa des M'gouna. We will go along the valley of the river Dades with tis many decorated Kasbah to arrive Quarzazate, the administrative center of the pre-Saharan region.

Day 06

Ouarzazate ~ Marrakech 歐薩薩 - 馬拉喀什

Enjoy breakfast at hotel.

A morning visit of the town of Quarzazate includes the 17th century Kasbah Taourirt, which served as the home of the Pacha Glaoui. Take an afternoon drive to see the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an impressive 11th century structure, which has been declared by UNESCO to be a historical treasure. A photographer's wonderland, Ait Ben Haddou still remains home to five families.

Take a drive past through one of the most beautiful scenic views in norht AFRICA of mountains and semi-desert terrain topped by kasbahs and adobe homes. Continuing up and over the high Atlas Montain at Tizi N'Tichka pass (6,666 feet), striking contrast of red clay villages and greenery leads you across the fertile countryside of the haouz Plain to the core city of Merrakech.

Day 07

Marrakech 馬拉喀什

Marrakech, 2nd fo the four Imperial cities, was founded in 1062. This is a rose-red oasis at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains. Your morning historical visit will include:

Back to hotel for an afternoon at leisure to explore the old medina of Marrakech with its souks and especially the Jamaa El F'na square where the entertainment begins late in the afternoon.

Day 08

Marrakech ~ Asni Ouirgane

Enjoy breakfast at hotel.

09:00am depart for a short drive to the Berber village and weekly Berber Souk (Market) of ASNI and the valley of Ouirgane. This is a half day journey which will takes you into the Atlas Mountains to see a vast array of vegetation, colored rock cliffs, mountains streams, Berber villages, and local mountain people.

Arrive Berber weekly market of Asni. The local souk (Berber country market) at Asni (take place on Tuesday & Saturday) is a wonderful opportunity to photograph colorful and traditional rural hamlets which are bustling with activity. Here you will see the local Berber selling their sheep, chickens, goats' skin to buy sugar, tea, coffee, sweets, spices etc. You will have a chance to see the traditional Barbers and dentists.

Continue your trip through to Imlil Berber villa in the top of the High Atlas Mountains.

Continue through the gorges of the Saint Moulay Brahim who's shrine is located in a village that has the same name "Moulay Brahim Village". It has a strange history. Its inhabitants are all descendent of four families to whom the village belonged 400 years ago. Those who arrived late had to reside in a the new part of the town, opposite the gorges carved out of the black schist. It is venerated by women, the saint is said to "cure" sterility, even celibacy.

We will drive via a few villages, including the Berber village of Tahanaoute, survive in this arid landscape, scattered with olive and eucalyptus trees and cacti. Further on the vegatation becomes steadily sparser.

Drive back to Marrakech in the early afternoon.

Marrakech departure

Rest of the day free at leisure till departure for airport.
