Phnom Penh ~ Kompong Cham - Kompong Thom - Siem Reap

Day 01 Phnom Penh arrival

Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit some of the capital's most impressive sites including the National Museum, the Silver Pagoda containing the Emerald Buddha statue, the Royal Palace and Phnom Penh's oldest shrine, Wat Phnom.
Overnight stay in Phnom Penh.

Day 02 Phnom Penh ~ Cyclo riding ~ NGO ~ Boat Cruise on Mekong River

This morning you will take a Cyclo tour through the old colonial streets of Phnom Penh which is still considered a symbol of Asian countries. Cyclo Centre is a local NGO that has been encouraging cyclo drivers to live a healthy lifestyle since 1999. It provides accommodation, English classes, and courses on how to go without smoking. Stop at Apsara Arts Assocication which helps facilitate needy children and orphans to get access to education and art performance training including dance, music and theatre. You will learn how these youngsters emulate traditional theatrical gestures and how they familiarize themselves with ancient forms of music. In the afternoon, you will visit Wat Than which is run by an organization that trains those Cambodians diabled by land mines in various handicrafts. Visit Russian Market that showcases a vast selection of bargain souvenirs including clothing, silverware, silk, bags, DVDs, CDs and ceramics. In late afternoon, take a one-hour boat cruise on Mekong River, enjoying the scenery of the green vegetation, the fishing villages, pagodas and spectacular sunset over the Royal Palace.

Day 03 Phnom Penh ~ Kompong Cham ~ Kompong Thom

This morning drive to Kompong Cham, a small town that still retains its colonial-era charm. Upon arrival, you will visit Wat Nokor temple, the local market and French colonial buildings. After lunch, drive to Kompong Thom. En route visit the 11th century Wat Kohear Nokor and meet local monks and villagers.

Day 04 Kompong Thom ~ Sambor Prei Kuk ~ Siem Reap

This morning drive 30km to the 7th century Sambor Prei Kuk temple. Along the way you will see vivid daily life of rural Cambodia. Visit the ancient capital of Chenia with its 100 temples dating from the pre-Angkor period. The complex at Ishanapura is composed of four groups of temples that are among the most ancient surviving examples of Khmer architecture. After lunch, drive to Siem Reap.

Day 05 Siem Reap ~ Roluos Group ~ Ta Prohm

Visit the Roluos group of temples dating from the 9th and 10th century, including Preah Ko, Bakong, and Lolei temples. In the afternoon, visit the Bantey Kdei with its rarely seenn sculpted female deities, the Lake of Srah Srang, the impressive Ta Prohm Temple, which is mystically enveloped by jungle. Visit the Ta Keo, Chau Say Tevada, and Thommanon temples before returning to hotel.

Day 06 Siem Reap ~ Angkor Complex

After your exploration of the ancient city by entering Angkor Thom via the Southern Gate, proceed to visit the ruins at Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terraces and the Leper King Terrace. In the afternoon, you will visit magnificent Angkor Wat with its extraordinary architecture and you may have a chance to experience spectacular sunset over the monuments.

Day 07 Siem Reap ~ Banteay Srei ~ Banteay Samre ~ Taprhom ~ IKTT

After breakfast, you will visit the graceful 11th century Temple of Shiva - Banteay Srei - and the Banteay Samre temple. In the afternoon, you will visit the Institute of Khmer Traditional Textiles (IKTT). It is housed in a traditional Khmer architecture and is meant to help preserve Cambodian national heritage by encouraging the young generation to learn traditional silk making techniques endowed by their forefathers.
Overnight stay in Siem Reap (Breakfast).

Day 08 Siem Reap departure

Breakfast at hotel. Free tiem at leisure till departure for airport.
End of tour (Breakfast).
